3:13PM - REMINDER: Devil's Night w/Dark Eden - TOMORROW NIGHT!

Since the night before halloween is traditionally referred to as Devil's Night, we thought of the concept of fear... and what frightens people more than the ever growing threat of annihilation? Therefore, we, in Dark Eden, are proud to present to you our contribution to all things that go boom in the night with...

Us, playing Bloody Mondays at R&R (formerly Club Rare), on 416 W. 14th Street, NY, NY, at 11PM, on Monday, October 30th, where we will be bringing our unique brand of darkness to you, live, along with Things Outside the Skin at 10PM, and all sorts of other surprises. There will be tricks, treats, surprises, and a prize from Dark Eden to whoever dresses in their North Korean military best, so dress to make Kim Jong Il proud!

It's $4 with a printable flyer and $6 without. 21 and over...and we're going to make that mean something.

3:00PM - A Reminder (Dark Eden at Oktotenfest 2006/New Song)

Be sure to check out our (and by "our," I mean, my band, Dark Eden) Myspace page, to hear the new song, "Double Plus Ungood." Somewhat best described as Ministry meets Carcass, it's a song about the simularities between the current Administration, the Muslim Theocracies of the Middle East, the Third Reich, and Orwell's Oceania of 1984.

That and it's a really fucking fun song. Check it out.

Then come see us on October 9th, when we play OKTOTENFEST with Hanzel und Gretyl, Bella Morte, and Wykked Wytch, at the Knitting Factory NYC!

3:48AM

hey, our next show will be at Downtime, with our good friends, If Man Is Five! if you saw them open for us at the late halloween show, you'll definitely want to be there.

also, if anyone is interested, besides the obvious thongs and cd's, you can get at our website, there's also our brand spanking new Cafepress page where we have all sorts of lovely items you can purchase. thanks to polina for that, btw.

oh, and i almost forgot, looks like someone is having a birthday in less than 30 days... hmmmmm... i believe on march 6th...

of course, the greatest gift you could give him would be to come to his show at alchemy on that day, but if you can't make it, something from amazon would be awful nice.

so be there, because toasters do not know how to be gentle.

3:35PM - We are Looking for a Bass Player

Dark Eden, NYC's blackwave pioneers, are searching for a fulltime bass player, for upcoming shows, recording, and touring. Male or female, 18-30, with talent, dedication, and the ability to learn fast. Looks and attitude wouldn't hurt either, but are not first and foremost. What is most important is that you can actually play. We may have a show on December 17th and we'd like you to be ready to be onstage by then. We will be auditioning throughout the month of November, until we find the perfect addition to our evil little family. Our sound can best be described, for those of you unaware, as Samhain meets Slayer meets Ministry with a little Type O Negative, Electric Hellfire Club, and Cradle of Filth thrown in for good measure. Write us at darkedenbooking@Yahoo.com if you are an interested party. Please note we are not looking for mercs, we are not looking for any more temp players, we are not looking for people who do this as a hobby. We want people who view this as their life and want to live it, not just dream it. You can check us out at http://www.darkeden.org or on our myspace page: http://www.myspace.com/darkeden

5:47PM - Dark Eden at Alchemy - November 7th

Dark Eden are proud to announce our annual Late Halloween show will be taking place, this year, at Alchemy at CBGB's 313 Gallery. Not only is this a special night for us, as a band, as we always go all out for our Late Halloween performance, but we also realize this could be our last performance at CB's, with the pending court actions. This night will be a special night of darkness, lust, and the unholy hymns of Dark Eden. The band will give a very special prize to the person with the best costume, so dress up as if Samhain wasn't a week earlier...

We will also be joined that night by our very special guests, the amazing female fronted metal band, If Man Is Five. With a dark, aggressive music and operatic vocals, their album was voted "Best album of the summer of 2003” by regional music magazine 315, they are a more than worthy opener for what will be an amazing show.

Doors open at 9PM, with If Man Is Five going on at 10PM and Dark Eden at 11PM. $6 at the door, 16 to enter, 21 to drink, with music until 4 after the bands, if you aren't there, you will hate yourself and so will your offspring for generations to come...

2:58PM - Dark Eden Next Week!

Two Nights! Two Shows! Two Sets!

That's right, we're doing two different shows next week with two different sets. On Thursday, August 25th, we do an 18 and over show at CBGB'S Downstairs Lounge (downstairs at CB's, obviously), as part of Wicked Little Doll's Rotten Candy. We will be debuting the Jehovah's Sickness song, "Woke Up in Bosnia" at that show, as well as playing old favorites like "Double Plus Ungood" and "3 o'clock God." Come out and support us and CB's (which, btw, is still in danger of closing, so if you'd like to know how you can help, check out http://www.savecbgb.org). You can print out a flyer from here to get into the show for $5 instead of $8.

Then on Saturday, August 27th, we will be playing as part of a very cool night of dark metal, old school hardcore, and haunting deathrock. At this 21 and over show, we will be debuting the new song "You'll All Be Really Sorry When the Rapture Comes Along," from Jehovah's Sickness, as well as giving you some of that Dark Eden wildness that happens whenever we play Pussycat Lounge and playing a longer set than the 25th, featuring songs like "3 Years, 10 Months, 8 Days" and "White Magick Boy." Also playing that night are the The Flying Buttresses, If Man Is Five, Jungle Junkies, The Straphangers (who you may remember opening for us at 2004's late Halloween show), and Abominatrix. All of these bands are favorites of Charles' and very much all worth seeing, so come at 8pm and stay for us all. On a sadder note, though, this will be Valium Joy's goodbye show from Dark Eden, so come out and make her departure a warm one. You can print out a flyer for this show, to get in for only $8, instead of $10, here.
